CROSBYTON [Special] - Services for Ewing Lawson, 85, who died Tuesday afternoon in a hospital here, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church.Officiating will be the Rev. Carl Grissom of Andrews, assisted by the Rev. Ernest Stewart, pastor.
Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of King Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
A native of Scott County, Va., Lawson moved to Crosby County in 1908 and farmed in the Crosbyton area until his retirement a few years ago.
He was a charter member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nannie; three daughters, Mrs. Jack Mayes of McAdoo, Mrs. Davis Bishop of Shallowater and Mrs. Robert Crow of Marble Falls; two sons, Campdon of Lorenzo and Ewing Jr. of Fort Worth; a brother, Clyde of Truth of Consequences, N.M.; two sisters, Mrs. Maxie Worthington of Clovis, N.M. and Mrs. Corna Seay of Branson, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Services to the memory of Mrs. Nannie M. Lawson, 82, will be at 2 p.m. today (Thursday, July 7) in Crosbyton First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Johnnie Williams, pastor of First United Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor of First Baptist Church.Mrs. Lawson was a member of an early Crosby County family.
Interment is to be made in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lawson died about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.
The former Nannie Collier was born July 12, 1894 in Hood County. She moved to Crosby County in 1908 and was married to Ewing Lawson on Feb. 12, 1911. Mr. Lawson preceded his wife in death August 22, 1972.
Mrs. Lawson resided in Granbury for 4 1/2 years before returning to Crosbyton this February and was a resident of Crosbyton Care Center. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Campdon Lawson of Lorenzo and Ewing Lawson Jr. of Fort Worth; three daughters, Mrs. Jack Mayes of Crosbyton, Mrs. Davis Bishop of Tahoka, and Mrs. Robert Crow of Odessa; three brothers, I.W. Collier and Dee Collier, both of Crosbyton, and Virgil Collie of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Ola Strawn of Granbury; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
