Marguerite LawsonLORENZO (Special) - Services for Marguerite Lawson, 67, of Lorenzo, will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Golden, pastor, and Travis Boyd, a Church of Christ minister, officiating.

Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

She died at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday at her residence after a lengthy illness. Justice of Peace Jim S. Travis ruled the death due to natural causes.

Mrs. Lawson was born in Ralls. She married Campdon Lawson on Jan. 14, 1945, in Ralls. She had taught music for 36 years and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Cam Jr., of Idalou; a daughter, Lisa Lu Strange of Lubbock; a sister, Ruth Madrigal of El Paso; and five grandchildren.

Campdon LawsonServices for Campdon Lawson, 85, of Ralls were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Lorenzo First Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Williams Pastor officiating and Ken Free, Minister of Emma Church of Christ.

Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

He died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999 at his home in Ralls.

He was born Sept. 3, 1914 in Crosbyton.

He married Mary Marguerite Willis on Jan. 14, 1945 in Ralls. She died Nov. 22, 1888. He then married Leona Ellerd Slater on March 26, 1994 in Lorenzo.

He was a member of the Lorenzo First Baptist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Yellow House Lodge and Shriner Khiva Temple. He was past president of the Lorenzo Sr. Citizens. He was a charter member of the Lorenzo County Club. He was a farmer. He worked for Bell Dairy for several years. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the Army. He was a member and commander of Crosby County VFW Post 1680. He moved to Ralls in 1994 from Lorenzo and lived most of his life in Crosby County.

He is preceded in death by one daughter Ruth Nan Lawson in 1952.

Survivors include his wife, Leona Lawson of Ralls; one son, Campdon "Camp" Lawson, Jr. of Denver, CO; two stepsons, Tommy Slater of Odessa, Dwane Slater of Amarillo; one daughter, Lisa Lu Strange of Golden, CO; one brother, Ewing Lawson, Jr. of Fort Worth; three sisters, Naomi Mayes of Crosbyton, Lois Bishop of Shallowater, Patsy Crow of Granite Shoals; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Pall Bearers were: David Bownds, Lester Bownds, Phil Timmons, Billy Wayne Poteet, Donny Bishop and Jimmy Bishop.

The family suggests memorial to Hospice of Lubbock, Box 53276, Lubbock, TX 79453.
