Longtime Crosby Resident Dies
CROSBYTON (Special) - Mrs. Lydia Knowles, 83, a longtime Crosby County resident, died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday in a Meridian Hospital. She had only recently moved to Morgan, near Meridian, to live with a son.Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the King Funeral Home Chapel, Crosbyton, with the Rev. Wayne Grizzle, retired Baptist minister, officiating.
Assisting will be Bill Bryant, minister of the Crosbyton Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Crosbyton Cemetery by King.
Born in Austin, she moved to Crosby County in 1935 where she lived until moving to Morgan a few months ago.
Survivors include three sons, Bob, Morgan; Charlie, Victoria; and A.G., Menard; two daughters, Mrs. Forister Ellison and Mrs. Charles Reno, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Irs Stroud, Fort Worth; and Clarence Stroud,Whitney; a sister, Mrs. Esta Chambless, Lovington, NM; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
