Services for Hazel H. Kirkendall, 83, of Crosbyton were held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 1990, in the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Johnnie Williams, a retired Methodist minister from Lubbock, officiating. Assisting him were Rev. Wendell Horn, pastor of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church and Rev. Lester B. Griffin, pastor of Crosbyton First Baptist Church.

Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Mrs. Kirkendall died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 1990 in Lubbock´s Methodist Hospital following a lengthy illness.

She was born June 6, 1906 in Milford, Texas and married Thurman G. Kirkendall, August 4, 1928 in Cleburne, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church and the Loyalty Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Big 4 Club and the Ladies 42 Club. She was a former member of the Crosbyton Garden Club. She moved to the Crosbyton area in 1949 from Godley, Texas.

Preceding her in death were sisters, Pauline Franklin, Bertha Berry, Cecil Brock, Grace Brock and Mable Franklin.

Survivors include her husband, Thurman G. Kirkendall of Crosbyton; 1 son, R.P. "Phil" Kirkendall of Crosbyton; 1 sister, Vic McClure of Kerrville, Texas; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Arles Graham, Gene Chappell, Henry Higginbotham, Dee Cash, Joe Cargile, Don Sager.
