Obituary

Billy Kirk Services for Billy Kirk, 73, of Crosbyton were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 1994, in the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Beth Harrington, pastor, and the Rev. Vance Mitchell, pastor of the Floydada First Assembly of God Church, officiating.

Burial was in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton.

He died at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 1994, in Floydada. Justice of the Peace Tim Burge ruled natural causes in the death.

He was born June 6, 1921, in Mt. Blanco and married Charlotte Ann Edwards Sept. 3, 1949, in Lovington, NM. He was a farmer and a member of the Crosbyton Rodeo Association. He lived in Crosby County all his life.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Kirk of Floydada; one son, Terry Kirk of Crosbyton; two daughters, Connie Sue Duke and Beverly Ann Wall both of Dallas; one brother, Curtis Lomax of Duvall, OK; one sister, Leila Eris Lowry of Mission, KS; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Lubbock.

Charlotte KirkFriends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Charlotte Ann Kirk, 80, of Crosbyton. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Crosbyton with Rev. Phillip Hilton officiating. Burial will be at Crosbyton Cemetery and is under direction of Adams Funeral Home Crosbyton.

Charlotte passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Crosbyton Nursing Home. She was born in Crosbyton, November 15, 1930 to the late Walt and Flossie Edwards. She married Billy Kirk, Jr. on September 3, 1949 in Lovington, N.M. He preceded her in death October 15, 1994. Charlotte worked in the cotton fields, and killed many rattlesnakes where she lived on the edge of the canyon. In 1959 she joined the First Baptist Church in Crosbyton where she loved and served the Lord her entire life. Charlotte was a graduate of beauty school. She worked as a beautician and volunteered time at the Crosbyton Nursing Home where she did hair and nails for the residents. She loved spending time with her family, playing cards and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one daughter Beverly Ann Wall on April 26, 2011.

Survivors include one son and his wife, Terry and Martha Kirk of Idalou; one daughter and her husband, Connie and Jim Duke of Plano; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials are to be made to Senior Citizens Center of Crosbyton 119 N. Berkshire Crosbyton, TX 79322.
