W. R. Kimbrough Sr.

LITTLEFIELD (Special) — Services for W. R. "Bill" Kimbrough Sr., 79, of LIttlefield will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Derrell Patterson, pastor, officiating.

Masonic graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Hammons Funeral Home.

Kimbrough died at 7:45 a.m. Saturday in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after a brief illness.

He was born in Haskell. He married Francis Buck in 1936. She died in 1955. He married Hazel Phipps Hickman on July 11, 1956, in Littlefield. He was the Lamb County agent from 1956 to 1966. He worked 30 years for Texas A&M Agriculture Extension Service in Hudspeth, Crosby, Kent and Lamb counties. He attended Texas A&M University on a football scholarship and lettered two years. He graduated in 1935. He was a member of Crosbyton Masonic Lodge No. 1020 AF&AM and the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, William Richard Jr. of Plainview; three daughters, Carol Tilson of San Antonio, Sandra Sweeney of Dallas and Hope Shockley of Fort Worth; a brother, John A., of Haskell; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ash Tilson, Brad Tilson, Ben Sweeney, Ramey Kimbrough, Bob Kimbrough and Trey Kimbrough.

The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association or a favorite charity.
