Services for Mary Catherine "Cat" Justus, 73, of Lubbock, formerly of Crosbyton were held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 7, 2005 at the Crosbyton First Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Brown, pastor of Lubbock's Monterey Baptist Church and Rev. Les Griffin officiating. Burial was at the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Catherine passed away Friday, March 4, 2005 in Lubbock's University Medical Center. She was born December 7, 1931 in Crosbyton to Gordon Lee and Veda Paulina (Marsh) Tyler. On May 23, 1947 she married Arron Greer Justus in Crosbyton. She and Arron lived in Crosbyton briefly before moving to Portales, New Mexico where their five children were born. In 1957 they moved back to the Crosbyton area where they farmed for approximately 40 years. Arron preceded her in death December 20, 1997 and a grandson, Brian Justus preceded her in death Nov. 21, 2002.

She is survived by 3 sons, Thomas Gordon "Butch" Justus of Mt. Vernon, Arron "Bud" Justus of Lubbock, and Jimmy "J. J." Justus of Crosbyton, by 2 daughters, JoAnn Horne of Lubbock and Rose Reagan of Austin, a brother, James Tyler of Hobbs, NM, and a sister, Bennie McMillan of Lubbock, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and special friends Sam Patrick and his daughter Jan Patrick of Lubbock. Casket bearers will be her four grandsons Nathan Justus, Chad Snodgrass, Brad Snodgrass, Joel Reagan, and great nephews David Cornelius and J. Paul Cornelius.
