Services for Charles Johnson, 53, of Conroe were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 1990, in Adams Funeral Home chapel in Crosbyton with the Rev. Wendell Horn, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

He died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 1990, in Houston´s Veterans Administration hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in McAdoo and had lived in Floyd County before moving to Conroe several years ago. He married Faye Brewer in 1976 in Huntsville. He was a shipyard worker and a longtime member of the Elks Lodge. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Clayton of Conroe and Truett of Wiggins, Miss.; a brother, Warner of Brownwood; a sister, Tellie Wheeless of Crosbyton; and two grandchildren.
