Ada Johnson photoCROSBYTON-Services for Ada Faye Johnson, 86, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Faye had resided at Reeves-Rhoades Terrace in Crosbyton. She passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at the Crosbyton Nursing Home. Faye was born on April 11, 1925, in Lewisville (Denton County) to Charles Wilkerson Robertson and Josie Lorene Powell Robertson. On Jan. 11, 1945, she married Taylor Eugene Johnson Gene in Lubbock just days before Gene left for the Philippines to serve in World War II. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1988. Faye was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Addie Maye Parks, on Jan. 29, 2008.

Her life was spent caring for her family and enjoying sewing, playing her guitar, reading, and watching Texas Tech sports, especially the Lady Raiders. Although the last 20 years of her life were filled with health problems associated with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), Faye remained positive and happy to live each day she was given. Faye was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crosbyton.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Ramsay and husband Ron of Idalou, and one son, Larry Eugene Johnson of Crosbyton. In honoring Faye's wishes, private graveside services were held for her son, daughter, and immediate family. Donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church Elder Outreach, PO Box 946, Idalou, TX 79329.
