Woodrow Hinkle

U.S.Flag Memorial services for Woodrow W. Hinkle of 4910 40th Street in Lubbock were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Crosbyton. The Rev. Donald Hancock officiated.

Interment was made in Crosbyton Cemetery.

Nephews served as pallbearers. They were: Si Swindall, Les Hargrove, Frank Hargrove, Charles Borden, Ronald Modawell and Ikey Modawell.

The 63 year old Hinkle was claimed by death at 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Amarillo following a brief illness.

The Hunt County native moved to Crosbyton in 1928 with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. I.B. Hinkle, and other family members. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he returned to Crosbyton in 1947 following his discharge.

Mr. Hinkle was employed at the Jack Arthur-Keise Garrison hardware and furniture business here for a number of years before moving to Lubbock in 1961 from Crosbyton. He was an electrician in Lubbock.

Survivors include his wife, Sally; one son, David Hinkle of Folsom, Calif.; four sisters, Lillie Hargrove and Gladys Swindall, both of Crosbyton, and Opal Whisenhunt and Billy Gratton, both of Dallas; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Hinkle, who had a number of Crosbyton relatives, was a brother of the late I.B. Hinkle.
