CROSBYTON (Special) — Services for Floyd Truman Hill, 80, of Crosbyton will be at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Revs. Les Griffin, pastor, and Ernest Stewart, pastor of First Baptist Church in South Plains, officiating.

Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Hill died Sunday, July 17, 1994, in Lubbock´s St. Mary Hospital.

He was born Jan. 12, 1914, in Courtney Flat, Okla. He married Bernice Daniel on Oct. 18, 1938, in Ringling, Okla. He was a farmer and a member of First Baptist Church and of Crosbyton Masonic Lodge 1020. A son, Marvin, died in 1962.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dale of Liberty Hill and Charles of Monahans; a brother, Fred of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Charlene HillCharlene Bernice Daniel Hill, age 91. Mama Hill passed away in her sleep to be with Family in Heaven at the Crosbyton Nursing and Rehab Center. Born to Robert Leroy Daniel and Mary Francis Daniel Jan. 5, 1920 in Atlee, Oklahoma. Bernice's childhood was very active having two sisters and two brothers, Stella, Raymond, Cloedell and Kenneth (she also had three other brothers and sister who died early in life), being a family of 10. She married Floyd Truman Hill Oct.18, 1938 in Ringling Oklahoma, an came to the East Plains of Crosby Co. Texas the next day. Floyd and Bernice joined the Pansy Baptist Church in 1939 and moved their letter to Mt. Blanco Baptist Church in 1947. After moving from the Walker Place to Crosbyton in 1956, they were members of the First Baptist Church of Crosbyton. They farmed on the East Plains for 30 years. Bernice was a housewife and mother until her boys were away from home when her hobbies became a business. She opened "THE BEE HIVE" in downtown Crosbyton in 1970. Floyd and Bernice enjoyed several years in the Mountains of Ruidoso NM before Floyd died in 1994.

Bernice moved to Taylor Tx to be near Dale and his children and grandchildren where she attended Sunday School and Church at First Baptist in Taylor. Bernice returned to live in Crosbyton at Reeves Rhoades in Nov. 2010.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Raymond and Kenneth; sister Stella; husband of 56 years Floyd; sons Marvin and Dale.

She is survived by son Charles Hill and wife Linda of Monahans Tx; 3 grandsons Mike Hill and wife Morgan of Tulsa Ok. Robert Hill ,Burnett Tx, Lance Hill and wife Karen of Roanoke Tx; 4 granddaughters Laurie Moorhead and husband Mike Spring Tx, Reisha Stolte and husband David of Taylor Tx ,Serena Reed and husband Richard of Chipley Fl, Kristina Richter and husband Lance of Taylor Tx; 11 great grandchildren Hunter Stolte, Brandy Moorhead, Austen Stolte, Kyle Moorhead, Richard Reed, Kaitlin Stolte, Dante Reed, Chandra Reed, Miranda Richter, Lane Richter and Lance Seavey and wife Jessica; 1 great-great grandchild Harley Seavey; and one sister Cloedell Tabor , Blythe , Ca.

Visitation with the family will be held at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, August 12. Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Crosbyton August 13, 10 a.m. with Dr. Les Griffin presiding. Interment will follow at Crosbyton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hunter Stolte, Austen Stolte, David Stolte, Richard Reed, Dante Reed and Lance Richter.
