Bill HickmanU.S.Flag   Services for William N. "Bill" Hickman, 84, of Crosbyton, will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 at the Crosbyton Church of Christ with Terry Ellison officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Bill passed away on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 in Crosbyton. He was born on Oct. 14, 1925 in Dickens County to the late Silas Jackson and Jenny Clementine (Scott) Hickman. On Oct. 31, 1947, he married Naomi Estell Callaway at Mt. Blanco.

Bill loved God, his family, his church family and his country. He served his country in the Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion. Bill had worked as a foreman at a sheet metal shop. He moved to Crosbyton in 1982 from San Antonio and had lived in Lubbock, Amarillo and Abilene.

Bill was preceded in death by four brothers, Troy Jackson, Tommy Hugh, Robert Lee and Joe Arnold.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi; three sons, William Lynn and wife Linda Hickman of Missouri City, Jeffrey Scott Hickman, and Curtis Jackson and wife Martha Hickman of San Antonio; two daughters, Joyce E. Smallwood of Weinert and Peggy Sue Hickman of Sabinal; a brother, James Porter Hickman of Lubbock; five sisters, Maggie Griffin of Crosbyton, Jimmie Eloise Wilkinson of Menard, Ruby Mae Wiseley of Tulsa, Okla., Wanda Dobson of Longview and Mary Nell Griffin of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today from 5 to 6 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton.
