Garland Eugene Hardin, 89, of McAdoo passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 in Crosbyton Texas. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, in the Crosbyton Cemetery with the Rev. Elizabeth Abraham officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
Eugene was born September 10, 1923 in McAdoo to the late Bryan C. and Pearl (Hodges) Hardin. He met and married the love of his life Winnell Ratheal July 26, 1943 in Plainview; they were married for 69 years. Eugene farmed all his life in the McAdoo community, he was a Master Mason, also served on the McAdoo School Board of Trustees, the Director of the McAdoo Co-op Gin and was a member at McAdoo First Baptist Church. Eugene loved spending time outdoors and most of all with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Geneva Hardin Merrell and one brother, Wayne Hardin.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Winnell Hardin of McAdoo, two sons; Ronald Eugene Hardin and wife Freda of Fredericksburg, and Charles Roy Hardin and wife Barbara of Post, three brothers; B.C. Hardin Jr. and wife Reta of Lubbock, Bill Hardin and wife Roberta of Floydada and Bob Hardin of Crosbyton, one sister in law, Doris Ann Hardin of Cuero, four grandchildren; Jana Burns and husband Stewart of Dripping Springs, Brad Hardin and wife Amy of Oak Hill, Holly Hoel and husband Matt of Austin and Kasey Toivola and husband Sami of San Antonio and eight great grandchildren.
