A. N. Hardesty Dies; Rites Planned Today
CROSBYTON (Special) - Services for Aubrey N. Hardesty, 72, will be at 4 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Stewart, pastor, and the Rev. Lee Crouch, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating.Masonic graveside rites will be conducted at the Crosbyton Cemetery with burial directed by King Funeral Home.
Hardesty was found dead at his home here about 5 a.m. Wednesday. Justice of the Peace Carl Ingram said death was caused by an apparent heart attack.
A native of Johnson County, Hardesty was a retired oil worker. He had lived here since 1962 and was a veteran of World War I.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Order of Eastern Star, Scottish Rite of Dallas, and the Crosbyton Lions Club. He was a charter member of the Sharon Temple of Tyler and was a commander of the Crosby County Barracks WWI Post 389.
Survivors include his wife, Linnie; three sons, Aubrey Wade of San Antonio, Richard M. of Dallas, and Lee Roy Oaks of Tyler; four brothers, Rudd of Charlotte, N.C., J.M. of New Jersey, Wesley of Friona, and sister, Mrs. Frank Day of Plainview; and six grandchildren.
