Mrs. Nannie Kate Handley, a Crosby County resident since 1925, succumbed about 8 a.m. Saturday, July 17, in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. she suffered a lengthy illness.Mrs. Handley, 82, resided at 403 South Crosby.
Memorial services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Crosbyton Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Joe Jackson of Cone officiating.
Burial was made in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of King Funeral Home.
Born in Collins County, Tex., on March 13, 1894, she was married to Harvey B. Handley on September 7, 1910, in Hardman County. The family moved to Crosby County in February 1925 from Childress County.
Mr. Handley preceded his wife in death October 7, 1970.
Mrs. Handley was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Crosbyton.
Survivors include one son, L.M. Handley of Cross Plains; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Black of Cotton Center; one sister, Miss Naudie Belle Clendenen of Crosbyton; five grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
