Masonic graveside services for Quincy Lelon Hames, 94, of Crosbyton were held at 4 p.m. Monday, October 23, 1989 in Crosbyton Cemetery with the Rev. Lester Griffin, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial was under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
He died at 2:35 p.m. Sunday October 22, 1989 in Lubbock Highland Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Stephens County and moved to Crosby County in 1901 and to Crosbyton in 1903. He attended Wayland Baptist College and Texas A&M University. He taught school for a year in Estacado and served with the U.S. Army in World War I. He was a retired farmer and also had owned and operated a carpentry and cabinet business. He married Louva Kiker on May 31, 1919, in Sweetwater. she died in 1976. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 1020.
Survivors include a sister, Lillian Artley of Crosbyton.
