Graveside memorial services for Laverne Haltom of Abilene were at 3 p.m. Sunday in Crosbyton Cemetery. The Rev. Dave Treat, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiated.
Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton directed the burial.
Mrs. Haltom was 62. She was claimed by death about 1:30 a.m. Friday in the Veteran Administration Hospital in Big Spring.
The former Laverne Coates was a native of Prescott, Ark. She moved form Fort Worth to Abilene about 12 years ago.
A certified public accountant, Mrs. Haltom served as a member of the U.S. Navy WAVES during World War II.
Survivors include one son, Johnny Haltom, who is serving with the U.S. Navy; a daughter, Joanna Radigan of Palm Springs, Calif.; one brother, Charles Coates of Houston; one sister, Vi Thompson of Abilene; a grandson; one niece, Mrs. Bob (Anne) Butler of Crosbyton; and three nephews, Lynn Fuller of Lake Charles, La., Bobby Fuller of Damden, Ark., and Edwin Coates of Houston.
