U.S.Flag Memorial services for Ruel W. Griffin were at 4 p.m. Monday in the Church of Christ here. Officiating were Loyd Hall, local minister, and Bill Bryant of Lubbock.

Interment was made in Crosbyton Cemetery. Arrangements were directed by Adams Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers were John Will Stewart, Buz Parkhill, Vernon Wheeless, Jack Hash, Dick Snodgrass, Dee Cash, and Ancil Steele.

Mr. Griffin, 64, was a longtime Crosbyton resident before moving to Lubbock in 1976.

He was pronounced dead in a mobile home in Lubbock about 8 p.m. Saturday by Justice of the Peace L. J. Black.

Mr. Griffin had undergone open heart surgery in February 1979 and had throat surgery early this year.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Born June 27, 1915, in Achilles, Okla., Mr. Griffin was a Crosbyton resident from 1933 until he moved to Lubbock four years ago. He was employed by Kerr Construction in Lubbock.

Survivors include three sons, Dub Griffin and Arthur Lee Griffin, both of Crosbyton, and Forrest Griffin of Ralls; one daughter, Mrs. Joanna Richardson of Crosbyton; five brothers, Silvester Griffin of Pacheco, Calif., Forrest Griffin of Graham, Frank Griffin of Mineral Wells, Orval Key and Andrew Key, both of San Antonio; five sisters, Oletha Ford and Mary Frances Coon of Mineral Wells, Mildred Sheehan of Milan, Mich., Thelma Smith of Torrence, Calif., and Katherine Arterburn of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
