Will GriffinServices for Will D. Griffin, 78, of McAdoo were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Apr. 26, 1999 ; in the Crosbyton Church of Christ with Jim York of Sunray officiating.

Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

He died Saturday, April 24, 1999, in Crosbyton Hospital.

He was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Crosby County. He married Maggie Hickman on May 6, 1939, in Spur. He farmed in the Wake Community all his life. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Tim Griffin of Lubbock; a daughter, Carole Morgan of Plano; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Noble Hunsucker, Dale Montgomery, Gary Cash, Barry McGaughy, Gene Chappell, and Bill Odom.

photoServices for Maggie Ellen Griffin, 88, of Crosbyton will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Church of Christ in Crosbyton with Terry Ellison officiating. Burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Maggie passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 in Crosbyton. She was born August 27, 1921 in Dickens County, Texas to the late Silas and Clementine (Scott) Griffin. She married Will D. Griffin May 6, 1939 in Spur. He preceded her in death April 24, 1999. Maggie was an active member of the Church of Christ for many years. A homemaker, she was also a member of the Spur Art Guild for many years and will be remembered as the Rose Lady. Maggie was known as "Mammaw" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren and "Sis" to her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. She answered to either name with enthusiasm and joy. She was well known for her sewing and cooking and was always being asked for her recipes. She moved to Crosbyton County in 1939 and she and Will worked side by side on the family farm near the Wake community.

Maggie is preceded in death by five brothers, Troy Jackson, Tommy Hugh, Robert Lee, Joe Arnold and Bill Hickman. Survivors include a son and his wife, Tim and Deidra Griffin of Lubbock, a daughter and her husband, Carole and Dale Morgan of Plano, one brother, James Porter Hickman of Lubbock, four sisters, Jimmie Eloise Wilkinson of Menard, Ruby Mae Wiseley of Tulsa, Ok., Wanda Dobson of Longview and Mary Nell Griffin of Lubbock. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to service time on Monday at the church.
