Gossett Funeral to Be Conducted This Afternoon

Funeral services for Oscar Richard Gossett, 47, will be held at the First Baptist Church at 4 p.m. today, Thursday.

Officiating will be Rev. Lesslie Thompson, Crosbyton Assembly of God pastor, assisted by Rev. Walter E. Lane, Lubbock, and Rev. Wayland Boyd.

Gossett died in a Lubbock hospital Tuesday afternoon following heart attack suffered in his home.

After living in Crosbyton since 1929, Gossett moved to Lubbock three months ago. He was employed as a Lubbock city bus driver.

Survivors include his wife, Maye; a daughter, Mrs. David Sudduth, Lubbock; his mother, Mrs. Mary Gossett, Crosbyton; four sisters, Mrs. Curtis Johnson, Crosbyton, Mrs. Elvin Walker, Wilson, Mrs. Ross Brown, Wildorado, and Ms. Harmon Mullens, Bryan; two brothers, J. J., New Home, and Theron, Tulia; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Bill Wallace, Eston Humphries, Jimmy Smithee, Fred Hill, Fritz Ausmus and L. A. Garner.

Interment will be in Crosbyton Cemetery with King Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
