CROWELL (Special) - Services for Silvester Garcia Sr., 77, of Crowell will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Iglesia Bautista with the Rev. Pablo Garcia officiating.

The Rev. Alonso Garcia will assist, and burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Calvillo Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Garcia died at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday in Seymour Hospital after a sudden illness.

He was born in San Patricio and moved from Ralls to Crowell in 1979. His first wife, Santos Perez, died in 1953. He married Catarina Barron on Dec. 26, 1962, in Lamesa. He was a farmer and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife; nine sons, Eligio and Raul, both of Crowell, Eliseo of Kansas, Luis of Ralls, Pablo of Midland, Silvester Jr. of Ralls, Santos of Thalia, Guadalupe of Florida and Alonso of Tahoka; eight daughters, Margarita Garcia of Plainview, Modesta Garcia, Rosa Garcia and Paula Garcia, all of Crowell, Elida Perez of McKinney, Ester Castro of Lubbock, Amada Perez of Ralls and Angelita Garcia of Vernon; 59 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
