Services for C.L. Freeman, 67, Are Held Monday
Funeral services for Clarence L. Freeman, 67, retired building contractor and carpenter, were conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday at King Chapel in Crosbyton. Rev. George Turrentine, pastor of the Crosbyton First Methodist church, officiated, assisted by Cline Drake, minister of Crosbyton Church of Christ.Burial was in the Crosbyton Cemetery under director of King Funeral Home.
Mr. Freeman suffered a heart attack at his home Saturday and was pronounced dead on arrival at Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.
Born Aug. 24, 1886 in Brazos County, Mr. Freeman moved to Crosby County in 1909 where he worked as a ranch and livestock company employee. In later years he was a building contractor until his retirement about three years ago.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Alvie Lindley, Ralls, Misses Lennie Merle Freeman and Mary Nell Freeman, both of Crosbyton; two sons, Charles of Crosbyton, and Billy Wayne, with the U.S. Navy in San Diego; a brother, S.K. Freeman, Tucumcari, N.Mex.; three sisters, Mrs. Starr Scales, Crosbyton; Mrs. Jim Williams of Lamesa, and Mrs. Aline Robertson of Marlin, and five grandchildren.
