Funeral services for Jay A. Fowler, 72, longtime Crosby County farmer, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Methodist Church.
Rev. George Turrentine, Lubbock, a former pastor of the local church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Wilbur F. Gaede, pastor. Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under diretion of King Funeral Home.
Mr. Fowler died at 7 a.m. Tuesday in his home north of the city. He had lived on the same farm since 1914 when he moved tot he county.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Norlan, Crosbyton; two daughters, Mrs. James Robinson and Mrs. Arnold Mize, both of Lovington, N. Mex.; three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Tucker, Amarillo, Mrs. W. L. Parker, Muleshoe, and Mrs. C. C. Smith, Crosbyton; five brothers, Charlie Fowler of Fallon, Nev.; Orie, Glenford, Ralph and Arnal, all of Crosbyton; 14 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Richard Proctor, Leonard Brixey, Bill Nickson, Don Anderson, W.O. Matthews, Wilton Seigler, all of Crosbyton; Alton Strickland of Lubbock, and Howard Cornwell of Ralls.

CROSBYTON (Special) Services for Mrs. Mildred Jane Fowler 76, who died Thursday in Ray´s Hospitality Home were to be at 2 p.m. today in the King Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Hadcock of Carlisle, assisted by the Rev. W.C. Odom, officiating. Burial was to be in Crosbyton Cemetery.
Mrs. Fowler was born in Blakesburg, Iowa, and moved to Crosby County in 1914.
She is survived by a son, Nolan of Crosbyton; two daughters, Mrs. Opal Mize and Mrs. Leota Robinson, both of Lovington, N.M.; 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
