Charlie Dow Foust, who had made his home in this community since 1929, succumbed at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Crosbyton Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr. Foust, a retired farmer, was 85.

Services honoring his memory were conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the King Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Lee Crouch, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Petersburg and a former Crosbyton pastor, conducted.

Interment was made in Crosbyton Cemetery.

Born December 10, 1887 at Levita, Mr. Foust was preceded in death by his wife on December 11, 1969.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, J.L. Foust of Crosbyton and J.W. Foust of Lubbock; three daughters, Mrs. N.J. Fowler, Mrs. Frank Ray and Mrs. Vernon Mitchell, all of Crosbyton; a sister, Mrs. V.D. Mitchell of Gatesville; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
