CROSBYTON (Special) - Services for J.C. Flournoy, 89, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Deckard, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church of Canyon, officiating.Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Flournoy died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.
He was born Dec. 25, 1908, in Chireno. He married Helen Ivy Perry on March 26, 1937, in Roaring Springs. He was a member of Crosbyton First United Methodist Church. He moved to Crosbyton from Chireno in 1917. A daughter, Sue Jan, preceded him in death.
He was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Julia Saffell of Lubbock and Lou Ann Klemer-Barnhart of Canyon; a brother, E.H. Jr. of Crosbyton; a sister, Harriette Massey-Jennings of Lufkin; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.
Pallbearers: Eldon Nipp, Jerry Flournoy, Johnny Flournoy, Charles Perry, Jeff Barnhart, Raymond Dinwiddie.
The family suggests memorials to Ceta Canyon Methodist Camp in Happy.

Services for Helen Flournoy, 87, of Crosbyton were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 1998, in the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Deckard, pastor of the Canyon First United Methodist Church, officiating.Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
Mrs. Flournoy died at 12:08 a.m. Monday, May 4, 1998, in the Golden Plains Care Center in Canyon, TX, following an illness.
She was born Oct. 25, 1910, in San Augustine County, TX, and married J.C. Flournoy on March 26, 1937, in Roaring Springs. He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1998. She was a member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State Teachers College and was a former teacher and a homemaker. She moved to Crosbyton in 1947 from East Texas.
A daughter, Sue Jan Flournoy, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Julia Saffell of Lubbock and Lou Ann Barnhart of Canyon; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and two great step-grandchildren.
