Arlie Fewell and Madeline moved to the McAdoo Community in 1938. They farmed the Adams farm west of McAdoo. They were the parents of two daughters, Gwendolyn and Ophelia. When Gwendolyn was a junior in high school and Ophelia was in the fourth grade they moved to Crosbyton, Texas a few miles west of McAdoo. Gwendolyn graduated in May 1949. She married W.H. (Buster) Reed. They reside in Lubbock, Texas. They have three children, William Gary, M.D. of Dallas. He married Paula Fay Herndon and they have two sons, Christopher, age nine and Michael age six. Glen W. Reed the other son is a petroleum engineer. He and his wife Paula live in Bridgeport, Texas. Their son, Monty is a junior in Bridgeport High. Janie Arlene Reed married Thomas R. Newton of Bridgeport. They have a son Joseph and give concerts throughout Texas and New Mexico. Opehlia Fewell graduated from Crosbyton High School in 1956. She attended Texas Tech for two years, marrying Floyd Glen Stewart of Center, Colorado. Three sons were born of this union, Mark Brandon, lives with his wife Joyce and daughter Michelle in Lovelan, Colorado. Merlin Gregg, lives with wife Linda and daughter Bibiana in Fort Collins, Colorado. Rodney Gordon is a commercial art student in South Plains College, Levelland, Texas.
Phelia is now Mrs. George D. McNeill of the Crosbyton community.
Arlie and Madeline celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 17, 1980. Arlie is a resident of Crosbyton Care Center and Madeline is Crosby County librarian.

Services for Arlie Fewell, 77, of Crosbyton will be held Thursday, April 9, 1987 in the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Ramsey, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Fewell died at 5:45 p.m. Monday, April 6, 1987 in the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born November 1, 1909 in Coryell County, Texas and married Madeline Adams December 17, 1930 in Clovis, New Mexico. He moved to Crosbyton in 1947 from McAdoo. He was a custom harvester. He was a member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church where he served on the official board of the church and was a member of the Methodist Men. He also was a former member of the Crosbyton Lions Club.
Survivors include Wife: Madeline Fewell of Crosbyton; 2 Daughters: Mrs. W.H. (Gwen) Reed of Lubbock and Mrs. George (Ophelia) McNeill of Crosbyton; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Services for Ida Madeline Fewell, 90, of Crosbyton, formerly of Glen Rose, were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Kelley officiating.
Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
She died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at Trinity Care Center in Bridgeport.
She was born Sept. 19, 1911, in Scurry County, TX.
She married Arlie Dean Fewell on Dec. 17, 1930, in Clovis, N.M. He died April 6, 1987.
She was an active member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church where she was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Crosbyton Order of the Eastern Star. She worked as the Crosbyton librarian for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Gwen Reed and husband, Buster,of Bowie, TX, and Ophelia NcNeill and husband, George, of Glen Rose; a brother, M.A. Adams and wife, Lillian, of Lubbock; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church and the Crosby County Library.
