Obituary
Monroe I. Dunn, who was reared in Crosbyton, was claimed by death Friday in Midland Memorial Hospital. The 61-year-old Midland man suffered a heart seizure Monday of last week.
A memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday in Crosbyton First Baptist Church preceded burial in Crosbyton Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor, officiated.
Adams Funeral Home directed local arrangements.
An earlier service was at 11:45 a.m. Saturday in Ellis Funeral Chapel in Midland. Father Frank Montalbano of Saint Ann´s Catholic Church officiated.
Born in Point, Dunn spent his early life in Crosbyton and later attended Texas Tech University. He was a son of Mrs. F.M. Dunn and the late F.M. Dunn.
Monroe Dunn served in the military as a pilot during World War II. Following his discharge, he lived in Paducah where he operated an insurance agency before moving to Lubbock in 1947 and going to Midland in 1957. At Midland, he was a special agent in general insurance for a number of years.
He was a member of the Silver Key and Phi Delta Theta fraternities.
The family has requested that memorials be in the form of gifts to Midland Memorial Hospital´s cardiac care unit.
