CROSBYTON (Special) - Services for Sam L. Davis, 82, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wendell Horn, pastor, officiating.Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Davis died at 5:55 a.m. Monday in Crosybton Clinic Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Cone and had lived in Paoli, Okla., and Ralls before moving to Crosbyton in 1946. He married Wilma Purkeypile on Sept. 19, 1941, in Lubbock. He had been director of water, street and swimming pool operations for the City of Crosbyton and retired in 1976. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Opportunity Sunday School Class. He had been superintendent of the Sunday School for several years. He was a former member of the Prairie Dog Good Sams Trailer Club.
Survivors include his wife and a daughter, Judy Burris of Edmond, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Manus Samples, George Brakebill, Terry Kirk, George McNeil, Dwayne Cornelius and Bob Adams.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Opportunity Sunday School Class.
