Funeral Program

It is said when life begins, it is like an open book, with many blank pages. Each day as we live, our deeds are recorded page by page until we close our eyes in death and await that great getting up morning. The pages of this book began for Bessie Dale Davis on October 3, 1928.

Bessie Dale Davis was born to Ruth Lee Lyles and Garland Davis in the Long Branch Community of Falls County Texas. She received her education in the Bremond School Systems and graduated from Bremond's Love High School. She moved to West Texas from bremond shortly after graduating high school and lived in Acuff as well as Lorenzo. In 1958 she moved with her baby girl, Norma Lynn, from Lorenzo to Petersburg, Texas. There she worked as a domestic and became an active member of Hope Well Baptist Church. She became church secretary, helped start the pastor's aide, and ushered for many years. In 1981, she moved to Lubbock, Texas, there she worked at Texas Instruments in the PEP area and was a quality control inspector. Bessie joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she was an active member and usher.

After her retirement from Texas Instruments she did volunteer work for the Salvation Army, Shapes Academy, Goodwill Industries, and the Lubbock City Welfare Office. And in 1996, she moved her membership to Triumph Missionary Baptist Church were she remained until her death.

She is survived by her daughter Norma Brunt, her son-in-law, Bill Brunt and graddaughter Tiffany Brunt (all from Houston), also granddaughter Julie Kotwiz, her husband Stan and sons Clayton and Tyler (Kaufman, Texas), Grandson Jason Brunt and wife Clarissa (Austin, Texas), Grandson Matthew Brunt and daughter Brenna (Glenrose, Texas), and grandson Micah Brunt (Dallas, Texas). She also leaves 7 nieces, 4 nephews, 2 aunts, 1 uncle, and a whole host of cousins and friends.
