Services for Fred Davila, 42, of Crosbyton, were at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2001, at the Crosbyton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mathew Rendon Jr. and Rev. Les Griffin officiating.Prayer service was at 7 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2001, at El Calvario Baptist Mission in Crosbyton.
Burial was in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
He died on Thursday, February 15, 2001.
He was born on April 30, 1959, in Sinton, TX. He married Rita Rivas on December 17, 1980, in Crosbyton.
He was a pastor of El Calvario Baptist Mission in Crosbyton. He was a graduate of Crosbyton High School. He attended Sam Houston University and Wayland Baptist University. He attended seminary at Southwest Seminary in Fort Worth for two years and went through chaplain training at Family Hospice in Odessa. He was also a pastor in Odessa for 11 years. He lived in Odessa for 20 years before returning to Crosbyton in 2000.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Gutierrez, in 1969, in Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Davila; his son, Fred David Davila of Crosbyton; his mother, Olivia of Crosbyton; a brother, Audon Gutierrez of Austin; and two sisters, Odie Navarro of Crosbyton and Gloria Rendon of Corpus Christ
