Funeral services for Maye Gossett Damron, 86, of Crosbyton was held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at the Crosbyton First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Patrick Lewis officiating. Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Mrs. Damron passed away Monday evening, January 2, 2006 at Crosbyton Hospital.

She was born on January 11, 1919 in Dallas County to the late Clark Echols and Lillie Mae (Hinkle) Hargrove. In 1935 she married Richard Gossett. He passed away in 1959. In 1965 she married Dood Damron. He passed away in 2003.

She was a member of the Crosbyton First Assembly of God Church and a homemaker. She resided in the Crosbyton Nursing Home prior to her death.

She is preceded in death by three brothers; Clifford, Frank and Leslie Hargrove.

Survivors include; a daughter and son-in-law; Clara and David Sudduth of Muleshoe, three grandchildren; Carey Sudduth of Muleshoe, Richard Sudduth of Wylie, Joni Sudduth of Austin and four great grandchildren; Shelby and Taylor Sudduth of Wylie, Sadie and Sydnie Sudduth of Muleshoe, a brother Joe Hargrove of Crosbyton, three sisters; Billie Jean Stokes of Hale Center, Mary Berry and Nelda Webb both of Bakersfield, CA, two stepdaughters; Christina Damron of San Antonio, Marianne Damron of Carrollton. Serving as casket bearers will be Carey Sudduth, Richard Sudduth, Joe David Stokes, Billy Stevens, Kelton Gowens and Don Higginbotham.

The family suggests memorials to the Crosbyton Nursing Home 222 N. Farmer Crosbyton, Texas 79322.
