Crosbyton lost another of its longtime residents last Wednesday when John H. Crump succumbed at 8 p.m. in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. Mr. Crump, 91, suffered a lengthy illness.Memorial services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church. Officiating were the Rev. Johnnie Williams, pastor, and the Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor of First Baptist Church.
King Funeral Home directed interment in Crosbyton Cemetery.
Mr. Crump, born Oct. 6, 1884 in Louisiana, moved to Texas in 1907. He was a retired cotton ginner.
The former Grace Martin and John H. Crump were married Jan. 31, 1923 in Floydada.
Mrs. Crump is among survivors. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Curtis Green of Ralls and Mrs. Bob Perry of Corpus Christi; one brother, Leslie Crump of Twin Hart, Calif.; two grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were: John Will Stewart, L.D. Witt, W.T. Scott, Dub Griffin, W.B. Robinett and Leon Havens.
