George Washington Craze was born Mar. 10, 1899 at Valley Head, Ala. He moved to Oklahoma about 1909. Carrie Mae Kelley was born July 14, 1910 at Soper, Okla. Wash and Carrie were married Sept. 11, 1926 in Ringling, Okla.They lived in Okla. for awhile, then moved to Santo in Palo Pinto Co., Tex. Three of their children were born there: Gerogia Mae, Gracie Faye, Bobby Carol. Wash worked for Carrie´s great Uncle Charlie Littlefield while they lived there. Later, they moved back to Ringling, Okla. where two more of their children were born: Patricia and Shirley Ann.
They moved to Crosbyton Oct. 18, 1943 from Ringling. When they arrived in Crosbyton, it was real cold and they were homesick, but they had given up their farm in OK, so they found work on the Arnal Fowler farm. Their youngest child, Peggy Fern, was born in Crosbyton, Mar. 6, 1944 and died July 6, 1945 and was buried in Crosbyton cemetery following services in First Methodist church. The longer they stayed near Crosbyton, the better they liked it. They made friends and their children all attended Crosbyton schools.
Wash worked on a farm from about 1943-53. Then he started working for the Bryan Hoffman Construction Co. of Plainview. After that he worked for Henry Stafford Construction Co. until about 1967 when he retired because of failing health.
Their first child to marry was Georgia to Hershel W. Crook at Ringling. They have three children and two grandchildren.
Their second child to marry was Faye to Bobby Ray Stewart at Crosbyton. They have four children and one grandchild.
The third child to marry was Bob who married Shirley Ann McDuff at Crosbyton. They had three children and two grandchildren.
The fourth child to marry was Pat to David Vernon James at Crosbyton. They had two children, the second child, Bobby David James was born Aug. 16, 1960 at Lubbock and died Aug. 31, 1973 in Memphis, TN of leukemia in St. Judes Hospital and is buried in Crosbyton.
The fifth child to marry was Shirley to Kenneth Wayne Peeks at Crosbyton. They had four children. Shirley´s second marriage was to Jesse Ray Fondren and they had two children. Jesse was killed in an accident Dec. 29, 1972 at Lubbock and buried at Crosbyton.
Wash passed away Oct. 21, 1972 at University Hospital in Lubbock and was buried at Crosbyton.

Graveside services for Carrie Mae Kelly Craze, 87, of Graham were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 1998, in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home of Graham.She died Monday, March 23, 1998, in Graham.
Survivors include four daughters, Georgia Holland of Graham, Fay Stewart of Graham, Pat Stovall of Lubbock and Shirley Milligan of Kirtland, NM; a son, Bob of Lubbock; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to St. Jude´s Children Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN, 38101.

CROSBYTON - (Special) - Services for George W. Craze, 73, of Crosbyton, will be 2:30 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church here.Officiating will be the Rev. Wayne Williams, pastor of Parkway Drive Baptist Church in Lubbock, assisted by the Rev.. Ernest Stewart, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Crosbyton, and the Rev. B.H. Kendricks, minister of Idalou First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of King Funeral Home here.
Craze died about 8:15 p.m. Saturday in University Hospital in Lubbock following about three weeks of hospitalization.
A native of Alabama, Craze was a resident of Crosbyton 29 years. He was a retired construction worker.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Bob Craze of Lubbock; four daughters, Mrs. Georgia Lefler of Alamo, Mrs. Faye Stewart of Graham, Mrs. Pat James of Lubbock and Mrs. Shirley Fondren of Earth; two sisters, Mrs. Rowena Hill of Crosbyton and Mrs. Nancy Miller of Ringing, Okla.; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
