Services for Billie Cornelius, 77, of Crosbyton were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 1997 in the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Woodward, pastor and Rev. Johnnie Williams, a retired Methodist minister from Lubbock, officiating.
Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
Mr. Cornelius died at 10:35 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 1997, in the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital following an illness. He was born July 27, 1919, in Bunyon, TX, and married Marie Stockton on Feb. 26, 1939 in Lubbock. He was a farmer and rancher and he was a member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Opportunity Sunday School Class and he also served on the Board of Trustees. He had served as a director and President of the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital and also served on the Crosby County Soil Conservation Board of Directors for 15 years. He served on the Crosbyton School Board and the Crosby County Livestock Show Committee. he served in the US Army during W.W.II.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Cornelius of Crosbyton; a son and his wife, Dwayne and Sue Cornelius of Crosbyton; a daughter and her husband Janice and Kenneth Leatherwood of Seagoville; a brother, Compton Cornelius of Crosbyton; two sisters, Dorothy Williams of Los Gatos, CA, and Oretha Hefner of Brownwood; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jay Jarrett, J. Paul Cornelius, David Cornelius, Dee Leatherwood, Gary Don Harkey and Earl Jarrett. Honorary pallbearers were the Opportunity Sunday School Class.

Services for Marie Cornelius, 87, of Crosbyton were at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 29, 2007 at the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Beth Harrington and the Rev. Allen Brooks officiating. Burial was in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.Marie passed away Friday, January 26, 2007 at Vernon Care Center in Vernon, Texas. She was born November 7, 1919 in Crosbyton to the late T. W., Sr. and Celone (Winters) Stockton.
On February 26, 1939 she married William T. "Billie" Cornelius in Lubbock. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1997.
A homemaker, Marie had lived in the Crosbyton area all her life. She was a member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church the United Methodist Women and the Needle Club. She was well known for playing the role of Minnie Pearl in many Crosbyton Hee Haw musicals.
Survivors include; a son and his wife; Dwayne and Sue Cornelius of Crosbyton, a daughter and her husband; Janice and Kenneth Leatherwood of Vernon, five grandchildren; Amy Jarrett, Betsy Harkey, Dee Leatherwood, David Cornelius and J Paul Cornelius and 11 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be; Dee Leatherwood, David Cornelius, J Paul Cornelius, John Jarrett, Jay Jarrett, Jed Jarrett, Gary Don Harkey and Earl Jarrett.
