Graveside services for L. W. Cook, 76, of L7 Ranch south of Crosbyton will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 12, 2003 at Crosbyton Cemetery with Rev. Lester B. Griffin officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, May 11, 2003 at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton.
L. W. Cook was born April 18, 1927 in Stephenville, Tex. to Velma Reed and Jesse Cook. L. W. was a true cowboy working on various ranches from Wyoming to Texas, settling down on the L7 Ranch south of Crosbyton where he worked for 18 years until his death on May 9, 2003.
L. W. told life stories of his work on ranches and passed his zest for life onto his kids and grandkids, giving them the opportunity to learn the things not taught in books.
He married Juanita "Neat" Rawls March 20, 1947 in Houston. He was preceded in death by one son, one grandson, and two great grandchildren.
He is survived by "Neat" his wife and partner of 56 years, their children, Cathy and Norman, Joyce, Helen and W. C., Ellen and Shannon, Sue and Mike, Joan and Jerry, Frances and Billy, Judy and Randy, Billy and Kim, Jimmy and Carol, Linda and Deryl, Terry and Amber and Bobby. They were blessed with 33 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
The family says "We will miss you Daddy/Grandpa" and we say "Happy Trails to you until we meet again."
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to charities of one´s choice.
