Obituary

I.W. Collier I.W. (Ike) Collier, who had resided in Crosbyton longer than any living person succumbed at 3:25 p.m. Monday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. Mr. Collier, 92, had suffered a lengthy illness.

Memorial services were conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Crosbyton First Baptist Church. Officiating were the Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor of First Baptist Church; the Rev. Johnnie Williams, pastor of First United Methodist Church; and Loyd Hall, minister of the Crosbyton Church of Christ.

Interment was made in Crosbyton Cemetery. Adams Funeral Home directed arrangements.

Mr. Collier moved to Crosbyton in 1908 from Hood County. He barbered here for 30 years prior to his retirement. He was among the community´s best known residents.

Isham Wade Collier was born July 26, 1885, in Hood County, Tex. He and the former Rose Howard were married May 8, 1938 in Crosbyton.

Mrs. Collier is among survivors. Other survivors include: one son, Dr. Isham Wade Collier Jr. of Owensboro, Kentucky; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Rubye) Nickson of Crosbyton and Mrs. Carl (Polly) Davies of Tempe, Arizona; two brothers, Dee Collier of Crosbyton and Virgil Collier of Highlands; one sister, Mrs. Elmer (Ola) Strawn of Granbury; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons served as pallbearers. They were: Mike Davies, Ronald Davies, Mark Davies, Don Nickson, Larry Yowell, Brooks Ellison, and Jerry Collier.

Honorary pallbearers included: Bennie Smith, Buz Parkhill, Harry Sherwood, Don Moses, A.W. Wallace, Arles Graham, Jimmy Edwards, Woody Robertson, D.B. Ellison, Les Treat, and Bill Marley.

Rose Collier CROSBYTON (Special) - Services for Rose Alice Collier, 96, of Crosbyton will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Carrol Robertson officiating.

Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery.

She died at 10:20 a.m. Saturday in Lubbock´s University Manor Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Lipan and married Isham Wade "Ike" Collier on May 8, 1937. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She moved to Crosbyton in 1932.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Wade Collier of Crosbyton; two daughters, Rubye Nickson of Crosbyton and Polly Davies of Grove, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
