Graveside services for Sam Coleman, Jr, 57, of Crosbyton was held at 1:00 PM, Monday, August 7, 2006 in the Crosbyton Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Wiley officiating. Arrangements were under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
Sam passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born on April 23, 1949 in Crosbyton to Sam Coleman, Sr. and Sarah McDavis Coleman. He was married to Velma Coleman and she preceded him in death. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Crosbyton. Sam had worked as a chef in various restaurants and had lived in Crosbyton most of his life.
He is preceded in death by a brother Kennedy Coleman in 1979.
Survivors include; his parents; Sam and Sarah Coleman of Crosbyton, two sons; Earl Coleman of Chicago, IL., Jason Coleman of Lubbock, two daughters; Angela Coleman of Las Vegas, NV. Shaulanda Coleman of Schaumburg, IL, three brothers; John Wesley Coleman of Borger, J. D. Coleman of Austin, Eugene Coleman of Amarillo, seven sisters; Sarah Wiley, Bernice Coleman and Bobbie Coleman all of Crosbyton, Charlie Mae Butler of Borger, Mary Jan Antwine of Garland, Willie C. Coleman of Dallas, Cherie Coleman of Borger, five grandchildren, two aunts Charlie Griffin and Bernice Coleman both of Austin, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
