Memorial services for Curtis William Coker of West, Texas, were at 2 p.m. Sunday in Crosbyton First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Al Jennings, pastor, officiated.Interment was made in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Charles Freeman, Jimmy Karr, Harold Hodges, T.W. Stockton, J.W. Jackson and Dee Cash.
Mr. Coker, 63, was claimed by death at 7:37 a.m. Friday in West following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 17, 1921, in Hillsboro, he was a member of a former longtime Mt. Blanco community family. He was graduated from Crosbyton High School.
Mr. Coker was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack and served in the Pacific War Theatre for three years on the flag ship USS Chester.
Since the end of World War II, he had made his home in West. He was never married.
Survivors include one brother, Clayton Merle Coker of Waco; three sisters, June Milligan of Fort Worth, Norma Hall of Lubbock and Nadyne Williams of Shamrock; and several nieces and nephews.
