Services for Sarah Maurine Dunaway Greene Claunch, 93, of Crosbyton were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1991, in the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Wendell Horn, pastor, officiating.

Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Claunch died at 8:06 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 1991, in the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was born Oct. 14, 1897, in Ellis County, Texas. She married Dr. F.A. Greene in 1920 in Ellis County, Texas. He preceded her in death April 21, 1950.

She then married Osce P. Claunch in 1955 in Maypearl, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1974. She was a homemaker and a music teacher. She was a member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church and was the organist for the church from 1920-1955. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Crosbyton PTA and was in charge of the Food Service for the Crosbyton Lions Club.

She moved to Crosbyton in 1920 from Ellis County then moved to Maypearl in 1955 then back to Crosbyton in 1988.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Willard and Joan Davis of Lincoln, N.M. and James and Anny Brynum of Maypearl, TX; two sisters, Mrs. Fred "Ruth" Sherwood of Childress, and Mrs. Dow "Frances" McGregor of Waxahachie, TX; four grandchildren, Juan Davis of Lincoln, NM, Monica Davis Autry of Weatherford, TX, Cynthia Jacobson of Midland, TX, Dr. Marty Johnson of Benbrook, TX; six great-grandchildren, Dusty Autry, Cody Autry, Scott Jacobson, Becky Jacobson, Laura Johnson, and Pat Johnson.

Pallbearers were Thomas Davis, Marty Davis, Tony Davis, James Bynum, Dutch Hines and Andy Anderson.
