Mauro Garcia Castillo, 49, died about 6 p.m. Friday following a sudden illness. He succumbed in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.
Services for Mr. Castillo were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph´s Catholic Church with the Rev. Harold Waldo, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Brothers and sons served as pallbearers.
A gin worker, Mr. Castillo had been employed by American Cotton Growers since 1973. He had been a Crosbyton resident since moving here in 1961 from Edcouch.
Mauro Garcia Castillo was born Jan. 15, 1929 in Mercedes.
Survivors include his mother, Petronila Castillo of Edcouch; seven sons, John Castillo of New Deal, Mario Castillo of Owens community, Maruro Jr., Javier, Joel, Roy and Noel Castillo, all of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Ignacia Ozuna and Mrs. Irma Vega, both of Crosbyton, Mrs. Hilda Cervantez of Idalou, and Carolina Castillo of the home; nine brothers, Paulo Castillo of Fort Worth, Heliodoro Castillo of Ralls, Federico Castillo of Crosbyton, Joaquin, Monseis, Francisco, Mateo, Felipe and Carlos Castillo Jr., all of Edcouch; five sisters, Sinona Garcia, Pula Nino and Luisa Nino, all of Edcouch, Amada Rivera of Ralls, and Alicia Perez of LaVilla; and 10 grandchildren.
