Obituary

Rosary for Gerardo Castillo, 88, of Crosbyton was held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 1999, in San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, in the same church with Rev. Glenn Rosendale officiating.

Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.

Castillo died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999.

He was born in Elgin. He married Maria Macias on Sept. 10, 1941, in Liberty Hill. He was a farmer from 1941 to 1954 in Bertram. He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton. A son, Gerardo Castillo Jr, died in 1969.

Survivors include his wife; 10 daughters, Dominga Montez, Lucita Hernandez and Victoria Rodriquez, all of Garden City, KS, Luisa Valdez of Farmington, NM, Delfina Lopez of Lorenzo, Josie Najera of Floydada, Francis Regalado of McAdoo; Maria Anzaldua, Nancy Barbosa and Juanita Magana, all of Crosbyton; three sons, Victor and Eddie, both of Lubbock and Danny of Wolforth; 52 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Maria CastilloMass for Maria M. Castillo, 83, of Crosbyton, will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 30, 2010 at San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton with Rev. Ernesto Lopez officiating. Burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM Friday, January 29, 2010 in the same church.

Mrs. Castillo passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010 in Lubbock. She was born July 2, 1926 in Austin, Texas to the late Juan and Fernanda Macias. She married Gerardo Castillo September 10, 1941 in Liberty Hill, Texas. He preceded her in death January 22, 1999. She is also preceded in death by two sons, Gerardo Castillo, Jr. in 1969 and Danny Castillo in 2003. A homemaker, she was a member of the San Jose Catholic Church and moved to Crosbyton in 1960 from Bertram, Texas.

Survivors include two sons, Victor Castillo and Eddie Castillo, both of Lubbock and ten daughters, Dominga Montes of Crosbyton, Lucita Hernandez and Victoria Rodriquez, both of Garden City, Kansas, Luisa Castillo of Farmington, NM, Francis Regalado of McAdoo, Maria Anzaldua of Ralls, Juanita Bustillos of Levelland, Delfina Lopez, Josie Najera and Nancy Barbosa, all of Lubbock, 57 grandchildren and 58 great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be; Adam Guerrero, Adolfo Guerrero, J R Regalado, Froilan Hernandez, Timothy Hernandez and John Anthony Castillo.
