Crosby Youth´s Rites Slated
CROSBYTON (Special) Rites for Ernie Gene Cash, 16-year-old local youth who drowned Wednesday on an outing at Hulah Dam Lake, Okla., will be at 2 p.m. today in the Church of Christ here with Carl Maples, Broken Arrow, Okla., officiating.
Bill Bryant, minister here, will assist. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of King Funeral Home.
Cash, a junior football player for Crosbyton High School, was found in 10 feet of water 15 feet from the bank of the lake, 30 miles north of Pawhuska, Okla. The youth and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Cash, Crosbyton, were visiting in Pawhuska when they made the outing at the lake.
Other youths with Cash said the boy tried to swim across a draw in the lake but had turned back and called for help before disappearing.
Survivors are his parents, a brother, Kelly, Crosbyton, and two grandparents, Mrs. E. D. Cash, Crosbyton, and Gene Starr, Denton.
