
CROSBYTON Johnnie Starr Cash, 83, of Crosbyton, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at the Ralls Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Crosbyton Church of Christ with Mr. Terry Ellison and Mr. Jim York officiating. Burial will follow in Crosbyton Cemetery under the personal care of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
Born on April 25, 1929 in Aubrey, Texas to Eugene and Beulah Starr, Johnnie attended schools in Aubrey and Crosbyton, and later married the love of her life, Dee Cash, on June 14, 1946. She was a devout Christian, excellent homemaker, and prize cook.
She was preceded in death by a son, Earnie Gene in 1964; a brother, Brady Starr; and three sisters, Mozelle Cash, Martha Rogers, and Mary Wright.
Johnnie is survived by her husband of over 65 years; a brother, Jim Starr of Colleyville, Texas; a son, Kelly of Seattle, Wash.; grandson, Kody (Kristie); and great-grandson, Brayden of San Antonio.
Memorials may be made to the Lubbock Childrens' Home or a charity of your choice .
Dee Cash, 86, of Crosbyton, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Carillon House in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the Crosbyton Church of Christ with Mr. Terry Ellison and Mr. Jim York officiating. Burial will follow in Crosbyton Cemetery under the personal care of Adams Funeral Home - Crosbyton.
Dee was born in Knox County, TX, on April 2, 1926, to E.D. and Fannie Lee (Ross) Cash; he lived in the Crosby County area since 1928. Dee served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 1st class in WWII from 1944 -1946, stationed in the Pacific. He returned home to Crosbyton and fell in love with his high school sweetheart, Johnnie Starr Cash. They were married on June 14, 1946. Dee was a devout Christian, fun-loving Cowboy and a stalwart farmer. Dee was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 65 years, Johnnie Cash on April 29, 2012, a son, Earnie Gene in 1964, a brother, Ross Cash in 2001 and two sisters, Dette Sursa and Jean Beck.
Dee is survived by his son, Kelly Cash of Seattle, WA, one grandson, Kody (Kristie) and one great-grandson, Brayden, all of San Antonio and two sisters, Cozette Blackwood of Lubbock and Elsie Atterberry of Pawhuska, OK.
