Funeral services for Jennie Ethel Hale Canida, affectionately known to friends and relatives as "Aunt Bunt", 83, of Abilene were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 in the Crosbyton First Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor, and Rev. Roger Stinson, pastor of Crosbyton Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.Mrs. Canida died about 11 a.m. Friday in Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene after a lengthy illness.
She had lived in Abilene for the last few years, but had lived in Spur and Kalgary during the 1930´s and 1940´s. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
She was born in Wood County, Texas on September 5, 1895.
Survivors include one brother-in-law, Homer Ellison of Abilene; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Bob Hale of Crosbyton and Mrs. Fitz Hale of Merkel. There are several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were R.W. Self, Waldo Havens, Billy Webster, Kenneth Havens, Leon Havens and Gene Pierce.
