Graveside services for Albert Buck, 90, of Crosbyton, were held Friday, August 7, 1998, at Crosbyton Cemetery with Rev. Richard Mayer of Lubbock officiating and Rev. Les Griffin of Crosbyton assisting.

Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Buck died Tuesday, August 4, 1998, at 11:45 p.m. in St. Mary s Hospital in Lubbock.

He was born on June 4, 1908, in Lee County, Mississippi. He married Vaunda Alene Howell on Feb. 29, 1948 in Carlsbad, NM.

He was a farmer/rancher and had lived in Crosbyton since 1922 after moving from Mississippi. He served in the Navy during WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Vaunda Buck of Crosbyton; three sons, Joe Buck of Lubbock, John Mark Buck of Houston, and James Buck of Crosbyton; three sisters, Weneva Ricketts of Arlington, Lanelle Stanley of Richamond, California, and Vee Durham of Arlington and three grandchildren.

Services for Vaunda Alienne Howell Buck, 81 of Crosbyton were at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at the Crosbyton First Baptist Church with Rev. Lester Griffin officiating. Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Vaunda passed away Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Crosbyton Hospital. She was born January 28, 1927 in Canyon Valley to the late Elvis and Viola (Dickerson) Howell. On February 29, 1948 she married Albert Sidney Buck in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1998.

Vaunda was a lifelong resident of Crosby County and member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church. She worked as a flight control specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration for 30 years. Vaunda was a renowned artist and was honored at the Crosbyton Chamber of Commerce Woman of the year in 2003. She loved flying her airplane and went to her final rest counting her cattle.

Survivors include; three sons; John Mark Buck of Houston, Joe Buck of Lubbock, James Buck of Crosbyton, a brother; Johnny Howell of California, a sister Arvella Cash of Crosbyton, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 5 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be; Don Weems, Charles Frater, Terry Cash, Jerry Durham, Rick Durham and Kyle Durham.
