Services for Henry J. Brewer, 89, of Floydada were held at 4 p.m. Monday, May 1, 1989 in Crosbyton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lester B. Griffin, pastor, and the Rev. Hank Scott, pastor of Bacon Heights Baptist Church in Lubbock, officiating.Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
He died at 7:40 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 29, 1989, at his son´s home in Lubbock. Justice of the Peace Grady Brooke ruled natural causes in the death.
Brewer was born in Haskell and moved to Floydada in 1962 from Crosbyton. He previously lived in Wichita Falls and Anton. He married Eunice Foreman in Clay County on Aug. 5, 1921. He was a farmer. A son, Shirley Jo, died in 1935, and a granddaughter, Karen Watson Crume, died in 1969.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, DuWayne of Irving, Darwynne of Floydada, and Ervin and Harry, both of Lubbock; three daughters, Glenna Watson and Dorothy McDougle, both of Crosbyton and Peggy Ayers of Lubbock; a sister, Katherine Musgrave of Wichita Falls; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
