Graveside services for James Darwynne Brewer, 69, of Floydada were held Wednesday, June 7, 2006 in the Crosbyton Cemetery. Rev. Bruce Cotton and George McNeill officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
Mr. Brewer died Sunday, June 4, 2006 at the Floydada Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born May 28, 1937 in Anton to the late James Henry and Eunice (Forman) Brewer. He married Linda Clements in 1985. She preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Baptist Church and a graduate of Crosbyton High School. He was the author of the Turf Management Handbook and owned Soil The Specialty, a fertilizer company. He had lived in the Floydada area most of his life. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Ervin Brewer on August 23, 2003.
Survivors include a stepson, Robert Higdon of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Duwayne Brewer of Irving and Harry Brewer of Ft. Worth; three sisters, Glenna Watson of Floydada, Dorthy McDougle of Crosbyton and Peggy Ayers of Lubbock; and three step grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Lubbock 1102 Slide Rd., Ste. 3, Lubbock, Texas 79416.
