Services For Bartley Child Held Wednesday

Services for James Wayne Bartley, two-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Wesley Bartley of the Savage community, were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at King Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Carl Grissom, pastor of the Crosbyton First Baptist church, officiating. Burial was in Crosbyton cemetery under direction of King Funeral home.

The child was the victim of an accident which occurred at the family home 2 1/2 miles southwest of the Savage gin at 7:45 o'clock Monday morning. The mother had placed the boy in the front seat of their car, a 1942 Chevrolet coach, while she backed it away from the house where it had been parked overnight. The right door came open and the child fell under the right front wheel of the car. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Crosbyton Clinic hsopital.

Mr. Bartley was irrigating in a field near the house when the accident happened. Mrs. Bartley was admitted for treatment of shock at the hospital.

Survivors include the parents; two brothers, Robert Henry and Eldon, and three sisters, Emma Louise, Mary Lou and Betty Sue.

Pallbearers were Homer Ellison, D. B. Ellison, Jack McCandless and Marshall Chappel.
