John Ancell photo Graveside services for John Ancell, 79, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sep. 1, 2010 in the Crosbyton Cemetery with Bob Adams officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. John passed away Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 at his home.

He was born Nov. 29, 1930 in Seminole to the late Bert Marvin and Olive (Stevenson) Ancell. On Oct. 21, 1954 he married Inez Folsom in Seminole.

John was a rancher and a carpenter and moved to Crosbyton in 1969 from Seminole. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Ancell, who died on Aug. 27, 1981.

Survivors include his wife, Inez of Crosbyton; a son and his wife, Tom and Ann Ancell of Crosbyton; a daughter and her husband, Tracy and Michael Sales of Ralls; five grandchildren, Matthew, Weston and Megan Sales, Erin Cargile and Callie Ancell; and a great-grandchild, Lily Cargile.

Inez Ancell photoInez Ancell, 82, of Crosbyton passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016. She was born March 16, 1933 in Tenaha, Texas to W.R. and Mabel (Brittain) Folsom. She married John Ancell on October 21, 1954 in Seminole, Texas and they were married for 55 wonderful years before his death on August 30, 2010. Inez was a member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church and Pastor�s Class and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Ancell.

Inez is survived by her daughter Tracy Sales and husband Michael of Ralls; her son Tom Ancell and wife Ann of Crosbyton; three sisters; Lucy Keen and Bobbie Hood, both of Jasper; Joyce Trimble and husband Ike of Brownwood; her brother John Folsom and wife Patsy of Jasper; five grandchildren; Erin Cargile and husband Aric, Callie Wiles and husband Rickey, Weston Sales and wife Whitney; Megan and Matthew Sales; and six great-grandchildren; Lily, Jack and Bradley Cargile; Kendra Stephenson; Stedson and Sterling Sales.

Visitation will be held 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 23 at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton. Funeral services will be held 10 am Wednesday, February 24 at First Baptist Church in Crosbyton, with burial following in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
