CROSBYTON (Special) — Services for Velma Irene Allen, 89, of San Antonio were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday March 17, 1998, in Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton with Leonard Harper, minister of Crosbyton Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Mrs. Allen died at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 1998, in Normandy Terrace Nursing Home in San Antonio following an illness.

She was born Nov. 13, 1908, in Bowie, TX, and married Ray L. Allen on May 11, 1929, in Crosbyton. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker. She moved to San Antonio in 1966 from Crosbyton.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Allen of San Antonio; a son, Bruce of San Antonio; four sisters, Polly Reynolds of Snyder and Lucille Proctor, Opal Clark and Lela Williams, all of San Antonio; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services for Ray L. Allen, 95, of San Antonio were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Proctor officiating.

Burial was in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.

He died Sunday, April 29, 2001 at Normandy Terrace Nursing Home in San Antonio.

He was born Aug. 12, 1905, in Decatur, TX.

He married Velma Proctor on May 11, 1959, in Crosbyton. She died on March 15, 1998.

He worked in the grocery business. He moved to San Antonio in 1965 from Crosbyton.

Survivors include a son, Bruce Allen and his wife Bobbie of San Antonio; 3 sisters-in-law, Opal Clark and Lucy Proctor, both of San Antonio and Polly Reynolds of Snyder; three grandchildren, Scott Allen, Kirk Allen, and Rodney Allen and his wife Terri;; and four great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jason, Emily and Lindsey.
